Nestled on the shore of the Iona Lake in Franklinville, NJ, Lake House Restaurant is rich with history. Originally built in the early half of the 1900’s by Polish immigrants, the Inn was as impressive as it was popular. Dances and parties were common occurrences, and the Inn maintained a respectable business. As the century wore on, so did the rumors of rooms rented by the hour, an illegal brothel, and a basement-located speakeasy during The Prohibition.

Likewise, while there are no official records of gangster Al Capone having frequented the popular Inn, and even eventually playing hand in the landmark’s Prohibition-era underground bar, the colorful stories abound. Listed as a “haunt” on Strange USA and other such paranormal resources, the Inn is perhaps best known for its bountiful supply of ghosts, spirits, and paranormal activity. There are endless rumors surrounding the building being haunted by the original owners, a “lady in black”, and even a ghost aptly named Victor.

Now the popular Lake House Restaurant, we can’t guarantee that you’ll experience any paranormal activity when you visit us, but we can guarantee a dining experience you won’t soon forget, unbelievable scenery, and an altogether pleasant – if not spirit-laden – atmosphere.
